Social Responsibility
Our approach to social responsibility is divided into two categories: obligation and ambition.
Our obligations include legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the standards we set for ourselves through our own values. Our ambitions are the areas where we want to progress, learn and grow.
Obligation
We split our commitments into five categories: Legality, Ethics, Environment, People, and Human Rights.
Legality
Kalas will always respect the law, observe our internal policies, only engage in legitimate business operations, and keep our collaborations open and transparent.
Ethics
Kalas will always conduct business with integrity and respect for human rights, observing standards around safety at work, fair dealing, respect toward consumers, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices.
Environment
As a company born out of cycling, we protect and promote the natural environment. Our fabrics come from sources within a few hours' drive. We minimise waste through state-of-the-art cutting processes, use eco-friendly inks, and follow an "all-under-one-roof" policy — manufacturing in our own Czech Republic factory to reduce unnecessary shipping.
People
Founded in 1990, Kalas remains a family-owned business rooted in Tábor, South Bohemia. We are one of the biggest employers in our region, with most workers drawn from the local community. We own our production facility, giving us direct control over our processes and working environment.
How Kalas is Socially Responsible
We apply our approach to all aspects of our business — from our employees and production facility in Tábor, to the suppliers, technology, and materials we work with. This extends to our regional distributors and offices around the world, and guides us in deciding which organisations and individuals we partner with and sponsor.
